About MeWelcome! My name is Katie Rzepka and I am from Wixom, Michigan. Currently, I am a student at Grand Valley State University studying Education and Mathematics. This fall of 2020, I was accepted into the College of Education and began my first year of Student Teaching. I was accepted to the Alpine Cohort Program at Alpine Elementary, within a 4th grade classroom, where I will be placed for the entire 2020 school year.
Following graduation in May 2021, I will earn a degree in Education that will allow me to teach K-5 and mathematics that will allow me to teach 6-8. Although I have greatly enjoyed the 4th graders, I am not set on an exact grade that I would like to teach. However, I do enjoy the elementary setting. Being that I am a student teacher during the pandemic, I have built a strong skill of flexibility. When I am not busy with my students or working on school, I enjoy being around my family and friends. I also enjoy staying active, cooking, utilizing my barista skills, and traveling. While at Grand Valley, I was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma, where I took on many leaderships roles within my chapter. I also became of member of Kids In Motion, an after school program that promotes physical activity and team building. Lastly, I am hoping my future will bring me to new places around the world, exploring cultures and creating memories with those who I hold closest to my heart. Working with children has always been a passion of mine from a young age. Building relationships with students will be at the center of my classroom. Without this, teaching has no meaning. I am looking forward to my own classroom, hopefully in the Fall of 2021! |
